Lots of critters on the creek...some of'em four-legged.

Meko

A visit to the Dugspur Deli today garnered the information that four (4) bear have been killed around Dugspur, the largest weighing in at 470 pounds without the head. Of course, deer had been checked in by the dozens. A flock of wild turkey seems to be floating between here and Aunt Bea's house. I counted seven (7) the last time I saw them. A coyote was killed next to Larmie Hill (going to Dugspur), so I guess I know what happened to all my cats!

If you live where we do, you own a dog. At least, more likely several. And they bark sometimes.
Last night our black Lab, Shep, barked all night long. Since black powder gun season is in full swing, we figured deer were moving from the hunters and this had him excited.
However, when we got up this morning, we found that Shep had Meko, the raccoon who lives nearby treed in the apple tree in the yard. Currently it is a stand-off, but I'm afraid Meko will fall asleep and drop out of the tree, so I'm confining Shep for the rest of the day!
